We have a ‘liquorice all sorts’ dispute practice: in the last quarter, some of our work has included filing an urgent application seeking delivery up of confidential information, successfully appealing a security for costs judgment, advising on a complex DOCA, running a payroll tax appeal and advising directors and shareholders on ongoing governance conduct claims.  You’ll be working on matters that deal with oppressive conduct, professional negligence, earn out disputes, trustee’s powers of sale, misleading or deceptive conduct, and the tort of injurious falsehood, just to name a few.

What you’ll be doing

·  Taking ownership of matters from start to finish, including managing files, drafting pleadings and evidence and shaping strategy

·  Working on a broad range of matters, directly with the partner as well as in a team

·  Going to Court regularly (including appearing at directions hearings)

·  Dealing directly with clients, counsel, and experts

You should:

·  have solid, hands-on experience with court processes and procedure, particularly in commercial litigation in the NSW Courts and the Federal Court;

·  be comfortable with drafting court documents (especially affidavits and pleadings), correspondence and advice;

·  have been to more directions hearings and subpoena returns than we can poke a stick at;

·  be confident working both independently and with the team; and

·  be ready to jump in and go!
