The HMAS Litigation at Marque needs more hands-on deck from not one, but TWO, gun junior litigators – 1 x PQE 0-1 years, and 1 x PQE 2-3 years.

We run an extremely busy and big practice running the gamut of insolvency, property disputes, construction, breaches of trust (shout out to the equity nerds), IP and the rest. It’s honestly making us anxious just thinking about all of it.

We want passionate lawyers with excellent vibes, who aren’t afraid of Court appearances or to roll their sleeves up and jump into the work.

Who we’re looking for

0 - 1 PQE

You powered through the college of knowledge and knew that you needed to wear a jacket at your swearing in ceremony.

You’ve been finding your feet in the big, bad world of comm lit and feel like there’s gotta be more to (law) life than photocopying and running things up to Court.

Our SAs need someone who is ready to review the endless piles of documents, correspond with the other side and take charge on preparing Court books.

You should

-        know your way around Westlaw and figuring out point in time legislation and when amendments occurred
-        have incredible ATD
-        know the difference between a registrar and a judge and there, their and they’re

2 - 3 PQE

You have cut your teeth on small debt recovery matters and recently got out of the junior lawyer discovery hellhole. You are now doing the grunt work on the big litigation matters (and let’s be honest, you have ‘day to day’ carriage, not the SA) and are looking to move to a firm where ‘presenteeism’ isn’t part of the deal.

You’ll be in the client meetings, drafting pleadings and evidence and providing views on strategy (not just grabbing coffee for the partners).

You should

-        have extensive knowledge of court process and procedure, with a focus on commercial litigation in the NSW Courts and Federal Court
-        know what we are talking about when we mention the 2nd limb of Barnes v Addy
-        have been to more directions hearings and subpoena returns than we can poke a stick at
