OUR EXPERTISE

We look after the legal needs of corporate clients.

We bring a lot of smarts and a lot of experience
to that task. Here's a snapshot of what we can do.

FASHION

IP protection, manufacturing, licensing and distribution agreements, privacy policies, website T&Cs, human slavery, supply chain management, product warranties, customer complaints, social media.

Okay, we admit there isn't a Fashion Act (although there is, obviously, the Fashion Police).  But the fashion industry has very particular needs, including in its interaction with the law.  So, because we're both excellent at law and terribly fashionable, we're here for you!

What are the legal issues for fashion?  The big ticket items are intellectual property and brand protection (not just your designs, but the house brand, labels, advertising, social media), your relationships with manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and others in the supply chain, and your online strategy.  Do you need a privacy policy?  Do you own your designs?  What happens if your manufacturer's factory burns down or it turns out they've been employing children?  What if one of the big chains copies your summer collection?

There are plenty of lawyers who can answer these questions, but our team is focused on your industry and knows how it practically works.  Justin Cudmore sits on the board of the Australian Fashion Council and has been guest judge for "Fashions on the Field" at the Bong Bong Picnic Races, so if he says coral pants are totally 2013 you really should listen.

As with everything else we do, the focus is on practical advice, no boring lawyer language and fixed pricing so you know exactly what you're up for.  Painless, and chic.
